Black Poetry : being blonde

i relive this poem everytime i go to the HOT! HOT! SOUTH in august!! having a father that was darker than tar...and me his offspring, being blacker than a grand canyon full of midnights...it didn't behoove us to be born with dark reddish hair that became more prominently red as we spent time in the sun!!! i became so tired of people asking me upon my return home...why i felt the need to DYE MY HAIR THAT COLOR!! finally i started telling them that i purchased stock in REVLON and that i needed to make sure that my dividend checks arrived at a continuously consistent amount!!! i laughed then...i'm laughing even more now!! great piece!!!!! thanx for allowing me to read and reflect!!
