They say she gave birth
to the first people who walked this earth
africa is our mother
so whether you are on the continent or in the diaspora
that makes us brothers
we were divided by fake borders created by colonial orders
submerging into tribes even though we look alike
it is time to recognise
who you are and understand there is no difference
between Hutu and Tutsi
broad noses big lips wide hips
take your pick we are diverse
but deserve to take our place on this earth
but this will only happen when we know our worth
