Black People : Brainstorming for collective goals & solutions

Full Speed,

Can we agree that up to this point, in this thread, that no one has mentioned yt this or yt that?

Therefore, complaining about somebody else's complaining isn't any more productive.

Get with those who are willing to build and eventually the rest will follow, because... everybody want to be down with the winning team. ;)

It does not matter how "awake" or "Conscience" a brother or sister is, if their "realization" does not bring them to the conclusion that WE have to take ownership and full responsibility for our problems and fix them ourselves

Either one is awake or they are not, no such thing as halfway, for if their realization doesn't bring them to the conclusion that we have to build and do the things needed to improve our situation, then they were never awake or 'conscience", or shall I say, conscious to began with.

One has to be conscious in order to be conscience. Was it not harriet tubman who said she could've freed more if they knew they were slaves?

To do anything without consciousness is tantamount to comatose walking around.

You have initiated the necessary cohesion

Thank you brother!

the fact is as long as any of us hold on to beliefs that are not based on scientifical proven principles of human dynaics and sociology of Black people for the past 500 years we will sit here and debate and converse rather then build while the community is burning and we have not designed a expedient way to get the water ther to put it out

Lets combine the two over in your thread. It doesn't really matter who started first, lets just get on the same sheet of music.

I answered this basic question in your thread, here is the cut and paste:

Educating ourselves about money is a part of a comprehensive solution, but lets be honest about money. It is misleading to claim a direct connection between the lack of money/wealth and crime. Crime is directly related to character. Millions of poor people do not choose to result to crime. Likewise, even wealthy people who lack character result to crime. People who have the potential, intelligence, and opportunity to earn wealth but who lack character frequently result to crime rather than legit means available to them.

Answer this question. Why do you think it is not uncommon that black millionaire atheletes find themselves involved in trouble? What about the countless black college atheletes who have had opportunities for potential wealth and promising professional careers only to have those opportunities taken away due to criminal behavior or poor decisions?

Wasn't Tupac wealthy? Wasn't Biggie wealthy? Wasn't Jam Master Jay wealthy? Wasn't Steve McNair wealthy? Wealth/money neither keeps one from committing crime nor shields one from crime. I would much rather live in a society of people of great character as opposed to living in a society of people of great wealth.

Educating ourselves about money is a good thing, but how do we accomplish this? There are already TONS of resources out there that teach wise financial concepts and are universally available to whosoever desires to learn and apply them. We simply need to embrace the positive things that are available. The question is HOW do we teach our people to embrace the positive things that edify and uplift us and reject the things that destroy us?

IMO, it is the home, the family unit, that is fathers and mothers who diligently instill within their children the tools required for a productive life that is edifying to themselves as individuals as well as to their communities.

The question then becomes, HOW do we get our people to embrace family values that properly equip our young people for the challenges of life and hold them accountable for being assets to their communities rather than a menace to society or completely self-serving?

I think that as we look for solutions, we will find the answers to these questions of "HOW" essential to successfully implementing those solutions.

Good questions...now for the answers...

for thier simplicity, and the capacity for each person to be able to contribute in small ways for the collective good of the race;

The Charter of the Organization of Afro-American Unity;
written by El Hajj Malik Shabbazz(PBUH) nd Dr. Clarke(PBUH)

and the NGuzo Saba.

These are two flashlights in the dark

The subway coductors in the MTA had an old urban legend and fable about this ish;

There was a homeless guy, spoke the kings english, had a NYT to read each day but never bathed, had clothes soaked with urine, feces, sweat, and Wild Irish Rose,
and he had this huge swelling on his left leg,
so huge , that he walked with a torturous limp, and would beg day and night for over 19 years on the trains

When he died, and was sent to Bellevue morgue
they cut his clothes open to see what this lump was

IT WAS 50 POUNDS IN GOLD BARS
tied to his leg

we have so much that we have not utilized or set in motion, and then wonder why we get no where as a people.
