...The reason that Cities seek to privatize is MONEY...the difference between the City and a private business is that the city is providing "services" based on tax dollars available and a private business is financing that part of the school budget with investment money and possibility of securing tax breaks.

We are under the illusion that by having some black
folks 'make it' that that is proof of progress of, as dixon
states, "real black power".

Dixon asks:

"How should we regard the black faces among the one percent of one percent?
Are they smart and savvy business people, examples of real black power?
Or are they well connected, despicable thieves stealing from the rest of us?"

Smart and savvy maybe even a bit of lucky.
It does not makes us all better off....only shows that social mobility is real if only for the talented few.
