Are you saying that humans really need this God to exist? If we take ourselves away from the book, or never have looked in the book, we'd not know or have any ideas how we originated on this planet we call Earth. As you can see, man is still looking to the sky or heavens as they are sometimes called, for answers. The urge to go and explore is growing.
