Black History : Remembering KATRINA !

Good Reminder...

I think your post is prudent. I wanted to know what had become of the Katrina survivors and what I found is not surprising but it is just as you said a blatant wake up call.
in 2005: "Because of everyone’s heroic efforts, we succeeded in restoring critical pipeline operations within days of the worst natural disaster to hit this great Nation.

Like arteries carrying precious blood to the heart, pipelines transport precious natural resources that are the lifeblood of our country.

The Bush Administration is committed to making sure that the American people have a safe and secure supply of energy. And so, I am announcing today that the Department of Transportation will be reaching out in the coming weeks to our industry partners to determine how best to minimize the vulnerability of our pipeline system in the event of future disasters."

Then in Dec there was the incident at city hall, for the article see here:

These tazer guns that police officials have are a nightmare, but that's for another post. I've also read somewhere the conditions that many Blacks are living in having been "relocated" to rural areas with little transportation, access to services... virtually abandoned.

It's a **** shame we pay taxes to an private organization so that these WP elite can prepare and protect themselves from the coming cataclysm in 2012 leaving 2/3 of the worlds population to die. Its a **** shame that the number of slaves outnumber the number of masters and yet we still haven't taken back our power.
