Can a homosexual be made? Based on what this Brother is saying, that is exactly what the prison system creates ... men who have sex with each other ... and with so many of our Black Men being warehoused in these places ... disproportionately so ... should we be concerned that they are making our men homosexual?

Can a homosexual be made, or are they all born homosexual?

If they aren't all born that way, how can you tell one from the other ... or does it even matter ... born that way or conditioned to be this way?

It all depends,do you mean when they come out prison,they become gay? if this is it,then the answer is no. I know many people that did what they had to do in prison and left that life when they left prison. You Military men that have sex with Transvestites oversees that is as straight as an arrow. You are what you are,and if you like men the you have that propensity for liking men.

I had a friend in the Navy that was kissing and feeling all up on what we all thought was a woman. He turned her/him down when he "felt" that she/he was a man. Days latter he told me that he went back and satisfied his curiosity. Now me,I never gave it a second though to even talk to that tranny,why, because I don't swing that way.

I don't understand your response, this question specifically ... "It all depends,do you me come out prison and become gay?" ... can you rephrase it please?

Meanwhile, you bring up an interesting point, suggesting that one can engage in homosexual activity, yet not be homosexual.

Is that what you're saying? If so, what then makes one a homosexual, if engaging in homosexual acts isn't the determining factor.

I was watching a doc on prison relations and some of the men on there was saying that even though they were having sex with men in the prisons that they were not gay.



I don't think most of these men go in gay, I think that being in there and not being able to have the pleasures of a woman, I think this can even be said with women prisons, desperate times call for desperate measures

Yes, i have heard the men saying this too, that they are engaging in the behavior, but are removed from the ramifications of doing so. Unfortunately though, there are not many (if any) life situations, where you can take part in a thing and come out completely untouched. It's not logical. Life just doesn't happen that way, I don't think.

I can understand them taking that position ... trying to distance themselves from their own behavior ... but it sounds a lot like denial to me. Perhaps a coping mechanism for the many Brothers that have found themselves incarcerated and faced with the very present dread of being sexed by another man. I'd imagine that most Brothers don't even offer this very weak explanation, choosing rather to pretend it never happened, while carrying the great burden of it throughout their life.

In addition, once these Brothers have been introduced to man on man sex, are they ever really the same again? Can they act as if it never happened? Can it be undone? Does it take them to a place from whence they can never fully return? Are there prices our communities are paying right now, great prices, for giving this prison system young strong Black Men ... and having returned to us ... only a semblance of the same?

Is this a cost we should be concerned about, since so many of our young men are going to prison (and returning from there) every day?
