    She thought she knew
    All there was to do
    Too bad for her
    She was only twenty-two
She thought she had him played from the start
    But this smooth old head
    Was just playing the part
    Setting her up
    To break her heart

    She was oh so fine
Thirty six, twenty four, and thirty eight
She just knew this old man
Would gladly pay for a date
    A small price to pay
For a game she couldn’t play
    He bided his time
    As he blew her mind

    Hypnotized by his convo
And his choice of fine wine
He went from old to mature
From looking OK to distinguishly handsome
    He now seemed very sexy
Of this there was no doubt
    Instead of working him
She was about to get turned out

He touched her like no other
He did things she’d only heard of
For the first time in her very short life
She felt what it was like
When a man can make love

Soon he told her it was time to go
    “Go?” she replied
“You can’t treat me like no ho”

    He looked in her eyes
    Now brimming with tears
    Twenty-two years old
    Exposed were her fears

    “If you were a ho
    You’d have left long ago”

    Between them
    There was nothing of significance
    Intrigue and ego
    Led to a sexual experience
    Only she fell in love
    That was the difference

He walked her to the waiting door
    All was said
    All was done
    She finally realized
    There was nothing more

    Was there ever anything?
    She asked herself
    And just who was he?
    This jaded older man
    At twenty-two
    She just didn’t understand

Great poem Heartbeat. The flow is perfect and the imagery is very visual, I love "poem painted mind pictures". Brilliant piece I really love it. Great work.
