you held me when i cried
when i thought i would die
you kissed me so gently
on the cheek and then winked
i'm so blessed that i knew you
you were more than life to me too
its so different cuz your gone
but i know i'm not alone

when i needed a little help
i ran to you for loving help
your compassion calmed my fears
your wise beyond your years
everything you said to me
was quoted biblically
and i cherish you spirit
your the life in my spirit

when i heard that you were gone
i felt to hurt and alone
how could you just leave me
when you cared since i was three
you get me goin' strong
and placed me where i belonged
i owe my life to you
for you are the epitome of truth

after a tearful funeral
we rejoiced unusual
because we know where you are
your in heaven as my star
you guide me through the night
and keep me so inspired
i love just what you do
your love for me is true

i'm in the grave yard so sad
as your pale body is lagged
down deep beneath the earth
i feel so deeply hurt
at the same time i'm happy
because your in heaven gladly
your just where you belong
you've got me singing this song
suddenly i feel a strong wind
as the minister prays content
and as he finishes and sighs
i feel the wind subside
it feels just like a hug
from you so far above

grandpa...
you held me when i cried
and my tears fall into your demise....

i love you grandpa
