The old theory "use it or lose it" is partially right because regular ejaculation does help maintain the libido and clear the seminal vesicles, but it cannot stop prostrate cancer. PSA stands for prostrate specific antigen and is in the blood stream on a regular basis even with a normal prostrate, but when cancer is present the amount begins to shift. Normal is around 0 even though it is present, but 0 is considered normal level.

Some research says it runs in families other says it doesn't. However, one piece of research that is clear is that black men are more prone to it and that it kills. Yes, the test is uncomfortable as hell, but not as uncomfortable of the pain of cancer once it metastisizes to the bone. Get a check up. When you go to get your check up make sure you haven't had sex in 24 hours because it can produce a false high PSA. Info is available on the web--check it out.

I think we shirk our responsibilities if we don't take the best care of our self that we can and even today a pound of cure still isn't worth an ounce of prevention--Ra

Amun Hotep,

You are so right. My husband went to a new doctor and she does the test for all her first time patients automatically. Many doctors don't really give a thorough examination to their patients at least once a year and many things slip through and these people are seeing their doctors on a regular basis. It may be the tests are not automatically approved by all HMO's.
In these days you may have to ask for various tests just to make sure to stop potental problems.
