Bro. James, by forcing millions to upgrade to so-called better, faster safer software. Meanwhile for years 98 was the most stable operating system until XP sp2. There is some truth in allot of those mac/apple commercials.

the bill and steve show should be cancelled.

I always wonder why smart computer users never get the picture. There is this thing about thinking Bill's stuff is tainted so I'll switch to Steve's stuff. No matter the side you are on, you will have to pay to get the abuse you will have to endure from their products and their companies. I have enjoyed learning and using Linux for a few years now. Linux has become as easy, if not easier than both MS XP, Vista or Mac OS. I use Ubuntu 8.04 because it has the most pre-compiled software and is straight forward as far as GUI's are concerned. Macs are a flavor of BSD Unix, if you go past the point and click of installed apps it is no different than any Linux, just a pretty yet unchangeable face. I installed VirtualBox and run XP as a virtual machine. This way I can delete the whole MS thing with one click if I choose. XP SP3 installed just fine on my setup, you must have some internal software settings that are disagreeable to SP3. I would suggest giving Linux a chance, run XP in a virtual machine. If either fails to meet your expectations, I'm am sure Steve will greet you with open arms. Ubuntu is not a bad choice. My blog, http://www.arnoarts.blogspot.com
