    How to Write a Proposal:
    http://fdncenter.org/learn/shortcourse/prop1.html

You can find several useful articles as well as microsoft word templates through this site: http://www.pitt.edu/~offres/proposal.html

There are additional resources here: http://businessplans.co.nz

And Microsoft publishes templates in their template gallery (http://search.officeupdate.microsof...TemplateGallery). The current direct link to proposal templates is: http://search.officeupdate.microsof...llery/ct103.asp

Hope this helps. If not feel free to contact me for additional resources.

    André

Sorry, something weird happened in selecting to automatically parse urls for microsoft templates.

Here is another attempt to get the information to you:

One last resource that came to mind is the Small Business Administration.

They offer a virtual workshop of sorts on business planning through their site at http://www.sba.gov/starting_business/planning/writingplan.html

I've spoken with half a dozen business owners who've used this information and the sba templates to secure financing to startup businesses. Not one of them used any of the expensive business planning software. I guess SBA knows what it's talking about.

Incidentally, one of the owners had been turned down for bank loan after bank to startup a business.

But with no previous experience owning a business nor creating business plans he eventually received financing when he used the SBA template instead of tried going directly through local banks.

He simply filled in the blanks, followed sba guidelines, and received financing

I hope the info proves useful.

I'm sorry I'm so late responding to this......but as a business owner
I actually have lots of resources but the first place I would suggest
for you would be your local "Economic Development Office"
as well as the SBA- Small Business Administration on line
    (address listed above)
There is a vast amount of information, however…I would also
Suggest that you look into the SDB certification / eligibility
As well as the 8(a) Business Development Program.

Your local offices should offer free workshops, presentations, etc.
And lot’s of information regarding the state and city guidelines
For starting a business, financing (as for what financial institutions
Are really looking for) such as the specifics of your
Projected cash flow…possibly even local business incubators.

You may even need assistance in the review once it is complete,
If your local EDO cannot assist you with this then I would inquire
To local Universities & Colleges, the Divisions of Business or
Local Business Schools………usually free assistance or low cost
Assistance from students……..because it’s education credit, etc.
    For the student.

If your just writing the plan, I know your not this far along but
These are some of the things you will need to think about.

Feel free to pm for anything further.
