    my weeping pen
    cries tears of ink
    birthed by the emotional
    thoughts i think

    a lonely pad
empathizes & soaks up the pain
    on each naked line
words leave black & blue stains

    the strength in each stanza
    is deeper than creative expression
    poetry for me
    symbolizes an intimate confession
    an emotional resurrection

    thoughts no longer dormant
in a sullen & caustic grave
    my spirit comes to life
    every time my soul
    impregnates the page

    ripe with life
    dues, don'ts, wrongs, rights
    tenured experience & heartfelt advice
    an eye opening invitation
take a glimpse at my plight

    let your eyes slowly glide
in and out of each line
let me write on your soul
    as your read into mine

    i appreciate the love everyone

this poem was inspired while listening
to a live B.B. King CD

the emotion and skill and soul he put
into his fingers as they strummed
    his wife Lucille
made my toes tap and my fingers snap
but it was deeper than music
i could feel what it was like before the thrill
and the emptiness inside after it was gone

i can only hope that my pen
touches somes life in the same way
