Building a Self Democracy.

A newer day is upon us. As we look out to the future trying to forecast which way the pendulum will swing, we must, within our separate moments consider that we already have the answer to "our" problems. We don't need anyone to tell us what those problems are, and we don't need anyone to show us how to fix them. What we need really is a way to manifest our solutions without other forces getting in the way trying to derail us.

Would you make be a better President? What would your proposal to Black America sound like?

Perhaps it sounds like I believe in you too much, but actually I believe in my "self" - but the is the person I will be voting for come November:

What about you?

What do you think a self democracy is?

Would you make be a better President?

No, i don't think i would. It seems that the presidency requires someone that at least appears to look out for everyone equitably, and right now, my focus is my own people. In addition, politicians in general, seem to be great liars ... and i'm not very good at that either.

It's oftentimes overwhelming to me, just managing this small community, i'd be (more) krazee if i had to manage the country!

What would your proposal to Black America sound like?

It would sound just like this community sounds ... or how i sound in this community ... :)

What do you think a self democracy is?

i don't know what that is.

True statement: "No all those who wander are lost."

You are indeed an amazing woman Mother Destee. Actually I can see you in politics, more in the Cynthia McKinney category.

But let's clear up what a "self democracy" is. Now a "democracy" is "supposed to be" when we are "ruled by simple people" you know how they say in court, we have a right to be judged by a "jury of our peers" well that is what a true democracy is about.

A self- democracy is people who look out for their own self interests communicate and network together in order to govern their environment.

This is "almost" what Destee.com is. Almost. If we had a 100% self democracy here we would communicate to each other about what is working in our lives and give instructions about how others could replicate those solutions if they wanted too.

Some have suggested that the American Government is really a self democracy and perhaps they are right. There are a group of people who look out for the own self interests in order to generate success and network with others that want to replicate the same.

In a self democracy I could say to my family here at Destee.com, look I made $40,000 with a travel service in Ghana and purchased several acres worth of land there. And then I could communicate further how others could do the same. "Ruled by simple people." Was I looking out for my people when I made the $40,000? Perhaps not, perhaps I was looking after my own self interests. But I can then communicate that method to others who wish the same for themselves.

A "President" is basically a chief of an organization. If there is no "organization" there is no President. It's like the capstone on a pyramid. You know you have some Black folks with the title "President" on their business card and there is no one under them, no organization, it's just a sole proprietorship.

Destee.com is an organization. Mother Destee is the President. Your life could also be considered an organization, even if we may not see it as organized at all. Who is the Chief of your life? You are.

The truth is, if we governed ourselves correctly and in a healthy way, our "self democracy" will work perfectly. First of all, when you love yourself you would never give out advice that would harm others or create illness for them. You would never "rule" in a stressful fashion.

But naturally in a self democracy those who express the same points of view gravitate into the same halls and buildings, this is a major flaw in self democracy and democracy in general. Because when this happens we have a strange habit of trying to fight against others we assume oppose our point of view when in actuality these groups are looking out for their self interests as well.
Not that people of the same mind shouldn't organize, but people of the same minds can rule without fighting for power over others.

The cure I believe, is to focus on the truth of self and nothing else. Don't add any extra programs to your list, don't add any more of other people's ideas, perspectives, issues, situations- stick to your own plans and cure your own situations and naturally when you overcome your situations others that you network with can benefit from your methods.

With this type of reasoning laid out, who can cure our problems? Naturally those who have already overcome them. Who can change the problem of Black Men going to prison? Black Men who haven't gone to prison and Black Men who have gone to prison and have beat the system. Who can change the issues of Black Women in America? Black Women who have changed it and are changing it. But those who sit in the backgrounds speculating without doing might actually be the ones derailing the movement.

You are a Better President already if you have successfully created a method of overcoming a problem that millions of us face.

This was an excellent topic! :great:

All of us should give this some serious thought.

I'm gonna have to "marinate" on this myself.

I agree with you on your points here....But, for those of us who feel so strongly about Presidential decisions, we all should imagine "walking a mile" in his shoes.
