I put on those old broken shoes again today
Though they are torn and ripped they help me get along my way

They have been broken so long I need not replace them
Even though I have long ago bought new ones

The broken shoes fit so well and keep me in a safe and comfortable place
If I wear those new shoes there is no telling where they might take me

The new pair might heal the open wounds on my feet
May be much prettier to see and a better fit indeed

But I have worn the old pair for so long they have become a major part of me

Hello....

I like this piece... it's short & sweet. It reminds us that sometimes we want a change so badly but sometimes we're just not ready, but sooner or later those old shoes are going to break down forcing you to wear those new one's. Who knows where those new one's are going to take us.... I bet someplace a whole lot better!
