"If you think oil prices are high at $40 a barrel then wait till they are four times that much.

How will you pay to run your car? How will you get the children to school? How will you heat your house? How much will transported food go up in price?

How will we pay for plastics, metals, rubber, cheap flights, Simpson's DVDs, 3G phones and everlasting economic growth?

The basic answer is, we won't."

I think this is an oldie but goodie article back in 2004. I wonder what the price of a barrel is now.

...and here we are today with really high gas prices!

If the oil did near depletion, the 'price' of food would be the last thing that any would be worried about. We wouldn't be able to get the food transported to pay for it, anyhow.

Well, when it runs out? *shrug* It runs out.
It's a 'finite' resource. Ain't meant to last forever. Somehow, humanity has built it's entire civilization around these fossil fuels...ANYWAY. *laugh*

Takes about 10-20 years and millions of dollars to develop a new vaccine. Pretty sure that 'green' solutions would take twice as long...you think.
In the meantime, the world govt's know this. Pret-ty sure they knew the likelihood when decided to tap into earth's energy in the first place. They weren't dumb.
...but count on human beings to put off worrying about a situation until the 11th hour.
    'Business as usual'.

    sad but true!

our entire civilization is built around it and as a result, now we are in so much conflict. But as you say, I believe it too, that they knew this day was coming and have planned for it in certain ways and are not telling the masses though, what they've planned.
