World Food Crisis and Starvation: Made in America

"The reality is that every aspect of this world food crisis is made in white America, by Americans, for America’s economic benefit. Today’s skyrocketing rice and grain prices are not the result of shortages! We are seeing record rice crops globally this year! As an Asia Times article, “Rice, death and the dollar” states, “The global food crisis is a monetary phenomenon, a … consequence of America’s attempt to inflate its way out of a market failure…” - full article - http://uhurunews. com/story?resource_name=world-food-crisis-and-starvation-made-in-america (note: in order to cut and paste this url you must remove the space between uhurunews. & com. Question: For those who have patriotically embraced america as "our country", what is your postion on capitalism? In other words should Africans support the continuation of Capitalism?

"What will end hunger and starvation is when the earth’s oppressed peoples finally have control over their land, resources, lives and destinies again. The people of Iraq, Palestine, Venezuela, along with African, Mexican and Indigenous people colonized inside this country are struggling for this. This is the struggle for national liberation."

Capitalism: Yes or No?

Uhuru!(freedom)

"If I could have convinced more slaves that they were slaves, I could have freed thousands more"-Harriet Tubman (1820-1913)

I have to vote yes, because with all its problems dont see anyother way working better anywere.

Could not get to the link but dont agree america is all the problem.
Zimbawee for example can blame greed and shutting down the farms in the country. With no more farms were did they think the food would come from.
Some of these countries that can, ( Zimbawee had extra food to export now have the people starving) need to at least try to feed themselfs instead of more aid from america.

Well first let me be clear as ive said before, Yes this is our country. Why? Because our ancestors built it from the ground up slave and free. They did so with their bare hands build the physical structures and the wealth of this nation, both free and slave. So yes this is my country though I do not embrace the systems' history of injustice or its current political practices domestic or foriegn. As for your question, I believe in a socialist type economy myself, but capitalism could work better and even in a socialist economy if it were more closely regulated by the govt to keep individuals from monopolizing and taking advantage of consumers.

Many countries in Afrika have regained control and have had it since the mid 1960s. Yet the Madmen who took the reigns still oppressed and famished their own people. There are too many to name Idi Amin, Mubuto, Mugabe, are just a few tyrants who come to mind. They've had almost 40 years and plenty of opportunity to seize resources to get it right. Instead they choose to look out for numero uno.

I don't think Capitalism is the culprit in this. Although personally, I feel the multinational corporations need to have more checks and balances when it comes to exporting jobs . . . anyways getting back on topic, what I feel is the culprit is the entire fiat monetary system. The US needs to go back to a gold standard in which the dollar is back by something.

The monetary system and the federal reserve need to be done away with. The Fed keeps pumping out dollars, inflating the market as a result devaluing the purchasing power of the dollar. Because the dollar is the world's reserve currency, as a result, the third world countries are going to suffer tremendously because it will be that much more difficult for their nation's currency to purchase anything.

Because of globalization, there exist a global economy in which Japan and also China and other developing nations economy is tied to the US. As a result, when the US economy suffers, the other countries take a hit . . .
