February may be over but Black History lives on
    as long as we exist!

    **********************************************
we smile we laugh we play
we enjoy music and books and riveting stories
    we watch movies and t.v.
    much like anybody
for if we only sat and reflected on the injustice
    against us past and present
    how rich would life be?

    we write and create
we sing and compose and play instruments
we listen we dance we become the rhythm
    more than anybody
for if we only sat and reflected on the injustice
    against us past and present
    how rich woud life be?

we educate we teach we learn
we go to school we build schools
we graduate we drop out for greater pursuits
    much like anybody
for if we only sat and reflected on the injustice
    against us past and present
    how rich would life be?

we win big we lose big
we love strong with passion even in weakness
we are rich we are middle class we are poor
    more than anybody
if we only sat and reflected on the injustice
    against us past and present
we would be stagnant no hope for prosperity
    we would not create
    we would not dream
we would lead such bland lives
    see life through angry eyes
and shield a promising future from our babies
    we would never know happiness
    we would never know success
we would live die and aspire hell
    i am a black american
living a full and rich life.

girl i don t have the words to describe how much i enjoyed these words sometimes we get caught up in trying to be crafty in words

simplicity is good every now and then and this piece exemplifies that
