Occupation
My occupation is whatever I do that requires focus
Dedicated to the Kings and Queens the world never knew
(Through no fault of their own)...

Painful premonitions prophesized
the destiny of once spiritual beings
Lynch letters laced with clues
Modern day Black Folk's blues
Enslaved by the machine
Material things
Ends versus means
Misguided dreams
With clipped wings
the caged bird
wishes to sing
unable to break free
things seem routine
Hot shot from the needle
meant to muffle
internal paternalistic screams
Into a painful existence a life she brings
Narcotics clog the bloodstream
The inheritance of the feign
No lifeline onto which to cling
Sadly so...its black babies for whom
the final bell rings
