    The faces of the
    homeless are strangers until
    they're someone we know

    Those without a roof
over their heads are just as
    worthy as we are

    Worthy of warmth and
    nourishment, worthy of some
    hope for the future

    Homelessly cry heard
In stilliness of night for warmth
    Worthy of a bed

    My heart flutters deep
for the lives of no roof or
    place to sleep within

    It's getting cold now
the bite of frost ain't no joke
    fingers and toes numb

    Waiting in lines for
a bed, but they're all filled up
    no room at the inn

    Open hearts needed
to cover the souls from cold
    being thy shelter

    center hope linger
freezing to the fingers and toes
    winter not joking

    We often wonder
    Have they no family, or
    friends to take them in?

    Did pride keep them from
asking for help, or did kin
    turn their backs on them?

    Perhaps the sting of
shame keeps a soul from reaching
    out, sensing failure

    True kin aren't teachers
    giving failing grades, true blood
    receives and accepts
