Black Poetry : Winter solstice

Hi Dnommo. Just found and love your poem. If I was going to read it somewhere, at a gathering, would that be OK and how could I give you and the poem the correct credit? Is it called "Winter Solstice?"

Thanks,
Dave

The snow arrived with an agenda
Hindering our daily commute
Removing any chance to continue
Upon a journey without reason;

It accomplished its task
Cover the land with white
So nothing familiar can be seen
Freeze time in the moment
Restrict movement until thaw

There was a moment where
Noise would succumb to quiet
For the things that make a sound
Were frozen by a gentle layer
Of silence and peace;

Our assignment now was to rest
Retreat from the constant barrage
Of daily stress and confusion to
Take a much needed moment
Of meditation and revival;

There will be no movement
No communications
No travel arrangements
No appointments to attend
Business as usual has been suspended

Until we can resist the temptation
To always be somewhere
Doing something…With someone
all the while never taking the time to
Simply smell the roses;

The snow completed its task
Stop the world long enough to
See that time will continue
Whether we move with it or not
So now we can appreciate
How precious time together
Must be…
