Snowflakes falling one by one
Oh how I long to see the sun
But winter's work is not yet done

There are snowmen to build
Sleighs to ride
Boots and gloves to wear outside

A gathering of people
At the local skating rink
A cozy warm fire
Hot chocolate to drink

A chilling wind, strong against your face
Woolen sweaters
Layers of clothes
A box a tissues for a runny nose

Winter is a time for patience
In a few short months
Birds will sing
For then will come the warmth of spring
