Formulating thoughts in my mind
trying to make them mesh
to describe
the
way
I feel when I see the young brothas
throw away their lives
in fleeting escapades of youth gone wild
makes me wonder
why did I escape
when I could have been on of them
yet
I realize that I have a mind
and with that
the power to change my future
my destiny is not dictated or predicated
by the circumstance of my living condition
but it is my desire for a better life
that has directed in the path that I walk
never bound by steroetyping
I aim
to make a claim
on wealth
not supplied by money
but by knowledge
to utilize resources
that shall allow
me to prosper
and so I formulate thoughts in my mind
to become a road map
for others to follow in my footsteps
for how dare I hide the secret to success
from my people
holding the keys
hostage
when I was blessed to not only receive
but to give that which I have received
and so the storm
shall bring about the winds of change
for I am my brother's keeper
my mother's prayer
and my father's dream come true
