Many times I have read an article on Wikipedia about a historical event, person, or organization and found an obvious bias. Sometimes there are no references or citations to even back up the statement and I feel like I'm just reading someone's opinion. Has anyone else encountered this?

Wikipedia is a great source, but it is just a source.
That's why you utilize other sources to cross reference the data.

I'm a big, big fan of treatises.

Wikipedia is a great source for objective stuff like Science, Math, Biology, etc...But for history, people, and organizations it's horribly biased.

I like to use a multitude of sources. The truth will eventually rise to the top.

That's because anyone can edit Wikipedia to their liking. As long as it's not seen as derogatory or spam it has a good chance of getting through. Plus some articles aren't closely moderated anyway.

Most schools now prohibit students from using WIKI in research type projects.
Like the other guy said, always cross reference.

Be that as it may, I love wikipedia.

I wouldn't know half the stuff I know today if it were not for wikipedia.
    I learn tons from wikipedia.
