Black People Politics : Why we don't have power

Just think about it and let me know in this thread what you think would happen? What would both parties do? Or what if we adopted some other strategy that I haven't thought of? What's your strategy for actually getting what we want out of politics? What's your strategy for holding elected officials accountable for actually representing us and our interests?

Why don't we have power?

Because we give it away for free. Isn't that a slave?

I went back and read the OP.

I find it amusing and curious that you started off with Sexual Power Games.

I decided that history was a record of SPERM Wars years ago. Various power games.

Sexual Power Games
Political Power Games
Economic Power Games
Religious Power Games &
Military Power Games

These power games can operate at different scales and interact in different ways. Cleopatra with Julius Caesar and Marc Antony is probably the most famous bringing sex into the mix.

Ultimately economics cannot be separated from politics because ownership of land brings in deeds and titles and liens and lawyers and banks.

Of course evictions and foreclosures can involve the police so the military power game can come in to the mess.

I consider the Economic Power Game to be the most immediate. When have the Democrats or the Republicans advocated mandatory accounting in the schools?

Sir, there's no need to cry out for others. They can't help you with an analysis.

That's why you see the indirect jabs from all the way back in the bleachers.

I asked a question so we may begin a discussion. You said the racist left the Democratic party, non? Please Sir, enlighten us. When did the racists abandon the Democrat party?

What year did this happen Sir?

No one's crying out for others. You're only saying that because you've now seen a couple people have agreed with me in recognizing your tactics.

Look around you. There is already a discussion. You simply haven't added to it. If you want to talk about racists leaving the Democratic party you are free to do so on your own. Why are you so dependent on ME in order for YOU to start contributing to the topic? It's because you want it to look like you're schooling someone. But if YOU are the one providing ideas then it is YOUR ideas that can be scrutinized and YOU could be the one "schooled". For the record, I had no intention of doing that to you. Of course, now that you've thrown the proverbial gauntlet, with your attitude... well now you have a good reason to be afraid. I don't blame you for that. I only blame you for that ultimately being your fault; the easily avoidable result of your own behavior.

Reminder of the topic: Why we don't have power

There are many reasons for this and many arguments that could be made. But what you're trying to do is TWIST and criticize what's already been said. That's far different from wanting to "begin a discussion". The discussion has already begun, dude. And you can join it. But it doesn't seem that your bravery and wit match your fantastical claims that you're on a higher level.

If you have questions about the political switch you can ask Google. However, I would have thought that someone "on the next level" should already know this...

And if you want to debate this point you can do it here or start a new thread on Destee:

And just to prevent further twisting of my words, I'm going to say this very clearly; something I really shouldn't have to say in a black forum.

THERE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN RACISTS IN BOTH PARTIES!

So if anyone attempts to twist my words to mean that ALL the racists used to be Democrats and Republicans had zero racists and then it switched... That is simply twisting my words to a hilariously false conclusion.

Most voters in the US are not "single-issue voters" and that's why Trump was a Democrat even though he is also a racist. Even though someone is racist, that doesn't mean they necessarily choose their party based on that. It's more so about how the policies align with what they want and believe.

Let me give you an excellent example of how you can go back to the beginning of a thread and contribute your own ideas:

This is a great post by umbrarchist which I will respond to in a bit. I just wanted you to see an example of how it's done so that you can fully know that there's no trap here. All you have to do is make a good post. No one's asking you to save the world or cure cancer.

No thanks...I'd rather read a book.

Speaking of which, since you are being elusive about answering my question, I'll give you the name of one that will hopefully assist you in your endeavors to understand the nuances of power.

I'm almost certain you're not familiar with our dear ancestor Dr. Amos Wilson. Because no one who's really serious about understanding the dynamics of power, can have a legitimate and worthy discussion without mentioning his name.

In his seminal work Blueprint for Black Power (1998), he writes:

"The rather obtuse pursuit of political office and the ballot box as
primary sources of power by the Black community and its politicians
without its concomitant ownership of and control over important
resources, has actually hindered the development of real Black power
in America.
" Wilson/p28/1998.

You'd rather read a book? Why? I even gave you multiple sources with the answer.

This tells me that anyone would be foolish to try and have a reasonable debate with you because when they provide evidence that is easily accessible to you, you will stick your head in the sand. But that's on you. The record shows that I gave you the information. You chose not to look. Of course, we both know why.

On top of that, that's a nice "Appeal to Authority" but again... it's not YOUR contribution and therefore cannot be criticized.

Furthermore, the quote is not a contradiction of or new to anything I have already said in this thread. He's simply saying that seeking political power without anything else to back it up is a hindrance. And if you read my posts you'll see I already said that multiple times a long time ago in this very thread.
