Black People Politics : Why we don't have power

Which BOOK are you referring to.

The Screwing of the Average Man

or

Samuelson's Economics?

It is because of the Screwing of the Average Man that I started reading Samuelson's but it is a Famous Economics Textbook. If the middle school algebra in it is incorrect then it is a Big Deal. I tried adding the information to the Wikipedia page for Net Domestic Product, but every time I added a few paragraphs explaining consumer depreciation someone changed it back.

Are You saying my algebra is incorrect? The reality of Physics does not care about the economy.

My dear intelligent brotha,

It's a different world out here in 2024. Books themselves are under threat of going obsolete. Was that "planned"? Probably not. But truly emerging technology is making a lot of people read less, expecting AI and search engines to help us navigate more quickly to specific data points we care about. And no, I'm not suggesting this is a good thing.

It's kind of like driving to a destination by looking at a digital map of the road and not looking out the window and really absorbing the whole journey and all the sights along the way. I had a good conversation with a guy talking about the Steve Jobs book he read and how anti-social the guy was. And so I remarked about how anti-social a lot of his technological innovations seems to have become as a lot of this stuff is made by engineers who are probably far more likely to be antisocial and so now... for all the new "connections" we're becoming more disconnected as a society.

So when I say people are probably not going to read those books, I do mean both. And its nothing against you. That's just the direction society is going in. So if those books have information you want to put out there you have to specifically repeat that information and build the case around it so that people care and understand.

I just posted this as a YouTube comment.

We need to stop calling them Elites.

How about EMIPs?

Egotistical Morons In Power

Why hasn't accounting/finance been mandatory in high schools since Sputnik? Check Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations.

He wrote "read, write and account" multiple times. He used the word 'education' Eighty Times. In 1776 50% of Brits were illiterate.

But are the schools today just used to maintain controlled ignorance? I am sorry but what good is Shakespeare compared to accounting? How would the American economy be different now if accounting had been mandatory since Sputnik? Would there be a population decline and would it matter?
