my mind goes faster than my mouth
my mind moves faster than my body
    my mind is hella busy
    so busy
my mouth has to catch up
    and i forget things
    i'm too young to forget
    and i feel things
    i'm too old to feel
    and you won't understand so
    in my frustration
    i put life on mute
    and
    i'm just quiet

    your intense conversation
has no room for my contribution
because i'm way too busy learning from you
    taking mental notes
    i just might forget
but those things that stick in my subconscious
i'm sure will emerge with dreams
    and i'll write them down
    so i don't forget them
    i'll write them down
    when i'm quiet

    the fluctuation of life's volume
    distrbs my inertia
    while i'm tuned into "A 440"
    life puts it at
    478
    and
    412
    and
    i just can't take it
    so
    i turn the volume down
    i'm quiet
    in hopes that life
    will follow suit

    and if you didn't understand
what i've said up until now
    then
there's no reason for me to speak
    it's a waste of time
    so
    i'm just quiet

there is nothing profound that can be said
in regards to the life i live
    i'm so over-protective of myself
i can't even use my life
    as material
    keeping myself from situations
where my heart might be broken
    staying in the house
    so nobody hurts me
    not being social
    for the fear of rejection

    i'm quiet because
    i have yet to live
    i can't write about
    what i don't know
    no matter how empathetic
the words don't touch the soul
unless they're spoken out of truth
and when i release myself from myself
and accept life with open arms
    and truly live
    maybe then
    i'll have something to say
    but for now

    i'm just quiet

It is a wise wo/man who knows that s/he knows not...that person shall learn.

"In the stillness of the midnight, sacred secrets still unfold".

There is much to be gained in the silence.

Thank you for constantly confirming what I've known all along about you.

    thank u all so much.

alyce - u were prime inspiration
what i feel when i read u is indescribable
that comes from your words being truth and no more, no less.
if it's not truth, it's not right
    and if it's not right,
    one should be quiet.

    reason, story, shaz...
    u all inspire me
thank you for helping this piece to be.
