Black People : Why the grey area about Medicaid and Medicare White House policy?

Congress supports cuts to social programs. It's pretty clear that the prevailing belief in American politics is that healthcare should be left up to for-profit corporations. And if we have to cut spending, it better not be from that profitable industrial-military complex or come out the pockets of the disproportionately wealthy.

You state a fact!!!!

so much of the burden on medicaid and medicare is from the HMOs and not the actual care itself

get rid of the extortion of the HMOs, let doctors handle thier own paperwork as they did in the 70s and all is well

Thing are so bad with the HMOs and big pharma running every darn thing in the profesion that new med students are opting out of being the basic pediatricain we take our children to, but instead seek to ecome specialists that the HMOs allow acorbitant and abusive costs of service

no spine?

No disrespect brother but I would not be presumptous to make blanket statements about the Black politicians in your nation or country where you vote,

and here in Brooklyn we have a good cadre of sisters and brothers, some former acitivists, one a former Black Panther;

who are all Democrats, fight against this stuff, and the foolishness from Cuomo in Albany,

and not only have, spine and much heart, they also have vision and have not forgotten from whence they came or the people that put them in office

1. No disrespect to those who are real....but likewise I wouldnt be too presumptuous to make blanket statements about the integrity of Black leaders in Brooklyn, or elsewhere.

2. Brooklyn doesnt include all of us.

3. As Largo stated, the Dems are just as corrupt as the Repubs.

4. You cant overlook the cost of this war, and why the government says they have to cut Medicaid/Medicare.

whoaa you talk about what you know I talk about what I know

and I am refering to Eric Adams, Yvette Clark, Al Vann and Charles Barron

who said all

brother?

, so where are you going with that as if you read me make some blanket statement somewhere?

as for every one else globaly,
since you brought it

up how are the black polititicains doing in Europe, in the city where you reside?

becuase we hear alot of folks across
the Atlanic having much to say about our Black American this
and our Black American that

but there can be no Global Pan Africanism if one side sits in their comfort zone and dishes out criticism of others

without sharing what they are going through,
otherwise it doesn't sound like an offer to help or assit blacks here,
but just some criticism.

and as far as wars , the EU is knee deep in Africa trying to take back what they had looted and pillaged before, and that is not a blanket statement but a matter of recent history.

And all of the above mentioned polititicans as wellas the black caucus are against the Medicad and medicare cuts and against all of the wars,

so brother what are your polititicans that you vote for doing?

I had no choice in being here and have no friendly or familiar faces to in some other nation to escape to
when suff gets hot in this nation.

The Democratic party except for some folks in Washington, and elsewhere has done very well for the place where I live and have done so for the past 50 years,
and still I can honeltly support what the Freedom party is doing as well, becuase their chairman got his seat and made his accomplishments and improvements fro the lives of Black folks as city coucliman in East NY and Brownsville as a Democrat.

A while back when the debate first heated up about the healthcare system in America and the future projected costs it was revealed that government programs put more cents on the dollar towards actual care when compared to private insurance companies. It was also observed that medical costs even with insurance was likely to be the cause of bankruptcy.

All the bills that were promising strong public options or nationalized healthcare died quickly.
