Why is it that you think the Pandemic was supposed to catch everyone by surprise????

I get that you don't trust anyone with more than $10,000 in their bank accounts. But it is public knowledge that Bill Gates has been concerned about pandemics for many years.

When people have money they get to fund the things they're interested in. So yes, sometimes they do things you might think your government should be doing. But governments often move slow and cannot handle rapid change. Government also has to work with private entities if they are not communist. This is no different from Elon Musk investing in Tesla and turning it into the huge company that it is. It pushed other car makers to offer real alternatives to gas. (note: I wish Elon was a better human being but it's a reminder that he's human just like everyone else) The point is that innovations often come from people who have achieved success in the forms of wealth and power.

This allowed the Gates Foundation to try to prepare people for global pandemic. If you read the actual site and not just a meme, you would understand that the Gates Foundation is reacting to experts in their fields.

"Experts agree that it is only a matter of time before one of these epidemics becomes global—a pandemic with potentially catastrophic consequences."

The truth is that these events were happening all around the world but we weren't paying attention. 200 events annually. But we didn't notice because they weren't all happening in our country. This is why we were caught of guard and why people have gotten suspicious of Bill Gates. How could he know? That's the real question. But the answer is that his foundation is global. They're not just looking at what's going on in one country. They're not just talking to experts in one country. That why they saw this threat. And there is a lesson to be learned from it.

It is very easy to get isolated. It's easy to care only about what happens in your own country. We do this all the time in the border debate. What affects those people doesn't "affect us" until they get to the point they can no longer live in their own countries. But the reality is that we should all care about what happens in other countries. Perhaps if we did, we wouldn't have to hear it from people like Bill Gates.
