In most cases, marriage is a religious ceremony and acknowledgement that a couple is committed to one another. So for those of us whom are not religious ..marriage (the piece of paper) is unecessary. It doesn't mean the relationship is going to make it. It doesn't mean the parties will be faithful. And now that you can declare non-spouses beneficiaries of your insurance policies there is no REAL reason for "marriage".

the idea of a harmonious union is an ultimate fantasy...

the hopes of a monogomous "marriage" is a dream deferred...

    it doesn't matter to me.....

I'm like smore i wan ride all the rides.. j/k

real talk tho marriage is a punchline these days......

the symbolism of "union" ..... means the world... our whole world......

marriages built on comfort blankets are destructive to purpose...

AND WHILE WERE TALKING ABOUT MARRIAGE...

SHOUT OUT TO THE GREAT ROYAL COUPLE OF DESTEE ON THEIR ANNIVERSARY...........

YA'LL GIVE THE WORD "MARRIAGE" MEANING..............

(FOR THOSE WHO R WONDERING I'M TALKIN BOUT BR KEITA AND SISTER TSWANA) ...

No...the wedding is the religious ceremony. Marriage is something else. No two people can be married to each other and be subject to someone else's rule.

    Just My Point Of View

In my opinion marriage is all about control and economics. You can't be legally married unless you do it the way someone else tells you(control). It has to be by someone that has been given (by the controllers) the power and right 2 do so.(control). You have 2 pay no matter what to be married. So called marriage is a scam. I don't need a piece of paper nor the blessings of someone who thinks they have the authority of the Creator because of their position to be married. Marriage is in the heart as well as devotion. A piece of paper or expensive ceremony can control ones actions. If a couple proclaims before the Creator and all that they meet that they are one then they are married.

Marriage is beautiful, as long as you got the right person.

Marriage in it's ideal form is not about control and economicsis,it is about two people making a commitment to love, honor, cherish ,and respect each other .

Marriage is the structure upon which families are built on.

Research shows that categorically society benefits from marriage.

Is it possible to make that commitment to love, honor, and cherish without some piece of paper?

I say that its more the concept then the certificate or license. When getting the license other parties come into the relationship (the state). Thats my opinion.

I for one will NEVER be getting a marriage license, well thats just my current mindstate right now. I see no reason. I agree with what your saying though.

Research also shows that legally marrying brings in major dollars to the state through different avenues. Its all opinion and perception to me though....

Actually being married has financial benefits like being able to get more tax exemptions and credits.
