I created this piece for a friend who discovered the power of knewledge, made it off the streets and into college. He has difficulty understanding the reception he now receives from the same brothas he once hung out ALL DAY LONG on the streets.

    why is it...

...when we see one of OURS trying to do better, we toss negative remarks his way--i.e. oh, you think you're all that, now...you mister big **** with a degree, trying to be the white man's *****...etc.,etc.,etc.

why can't we be happy to see one of OURS claiming that ladder?

    do what you do, coco.

    One.

This was VERY nice coco. I liked the flow if it. Haters come in all shapes and sizes. Da Street So'ja's right, fear will keep ya down or take ya up. It's all up to you. :)
