 I was watching a movie with John Wayne.

John Wayne traveled with a dog, and when a ruthless person tried to draw has gun on John Wayne, John Wayne said DOG, and the DOG attacked the man.

John Wayne did not say Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, Rover, Spot...and the likes of.

I seek Over standing of all that I can in this life time.:baby:

I think when we apply a name to our pet, it personalize that pet to ourselves. It like when a child is born you give it a name. You don't continue to call that child "baby". The word Dog is not a name, its more of a description of the type of animal it is.

I really liked the question though. I wonder what others response will be.

    Beloved QG PMS:

    Thank you for sharing that.

    I meditate others will share.

I remain on the constant/consistent pursuit of Knowing and Over standing.

that's quite funny, actually - I never gave it thought! When I lived in the cities, I named my pets - when I lived in the countryside.. no name.. they were just dogs.. even though I treated/cared for them the same way - hahaha - crazy, looking back...

Let's say we went to a dog show, that's real big in some citys.
The judge stands there in the middle of the arena surrounded by about ...hmmm let's say 50 dogs,
He yells in the loud speaker::hearthis: THIS YEAR'S WINNER IS ..."DOG" ...MISS BLACK, WOULD YOU PLEASE BRING "DOG FORWARD! ...
how many you think gonna run up there?, yep..every dog will.

    Here's something to remember:
    "Dogs have names"
    "black folks have Numbers"

by the way, I have two dogs (names) Egypt & Nubia

LOL, the same reason why we have names; yet we are termed "humans". A sense of individuality and identity.
