Black Relationships : Why did you get married?

That is great. I've seen too many examples of our people mistreating each other while fawning over people of other ethnicities (especially whites and asians). I have no problem with interracial relationships if they are made for healthy reasons. Unfortunately, I have seen too many times where the relationships were based on the fetishes of the other ethnicities and the deep seated self-hatred of the black participant.

That is so funny and unfortunately true in some cases.

Actually my last buddy was a black militant leader, that was the main attraction ans disappointment. I expected a lot from him, but the mistake I made was allowing him to 'know' me before getting married. Certain people you should not have sexual relations with before you are married. In most cases those situations do not get any better.

My posted poem to him is below.

Mr. Black Man - PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for expecting you to be
something that you are not.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for falling in love with you
undeserving and unconditionally.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for expecting you to understand
the complexities of accepting my love
or the simplicities of being a REALMAN.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for giving up the P^&&y
knowing like credit that you can't afford to pay back
in my eyes - you will always be in debt to me.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for expecting you to be - not only something that you are not
BUT SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN NEVER BE.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for believing in you
when you do not even believe in yourself.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for trying to take you
to this very SPIRITUAL PLAIN.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for insulting you because
of my wisdom and strength.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for wanting us to be a team
- together trying to find ways to save our BLACK RACE.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for not warning you enough
the dangerous woman I can be
if you keep on accepting my STUFF.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for feeling ashamed and embarrassed
to have loved you.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for acting like you have ever doneanything for me
other than TAKING OFF YOURCLOTHES.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
for trying to take you
from mental and emotional slavery.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME!
FOR SIMPLY LOVING YOU TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND HATING YOU FOR NOT TREATING ME LIKE A LADY!

I got married because we love each other and I was not willing to have any more 'buddies' in my life.

Also, even though I was doing fine on my own I welcomed the thought of the man in my bed being 'mine' by marriage.

I had my own career.
I had my own money.
I know my temperaments, which means I know my strengths and weaknesses.

Men before my husband where only for pleasure...like play toys. Because of the lack of trust and commitment, I downgraded them to something needed only for 'booty' calls.

Then I met my husband. With all of his wonderful qualities, I decided he was a keeper.

He is my lover and friend. That's why we got married.

Plus, the Bible states that it is better to get married than to fornicate and go to hell.
I got married because I met the sweetest, most beautiful woman God ever put on this earth and wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. She has a very kind heart and a generous spirit. She loves the Lord, like I do, but isn't "no fun" religious...youknowhatImean?

I tell people for the past 20 years I've been married to the most wonderful woman in the world, and for some strange reason I'm sure a lot of people don't understand, she seems to be rather fond of me too!

After 20 years of marriage we still join hands when we say our prayers. Not a day goes by that we don't say "I love you" to each other several times a day. And best of all, we still fall asleep every night snuggling spoon fashion. We're fond of saying we make love every night.

One more thing: I discovered early on is that the key to a happy marriage was not finding the right person but BEING the right person.

Happy Independence Day everyone!

By the by, every Saturday for the past 20 years my wife and I have had a standing date: We sit on our living room sofa at around 6 p.m. and watch a movie while eating popcorn. We almost never break this date. (Yesterday we watched "Olympus Has Fallen," virtually a remake of "Die Hard," but we liked it.)
