What brought you from the
south up to the north?
Maybe it doesn't even
matter now...
I opened up my heart
as I appeared before
you baring my
simplistic soul
An auricle that felt
relief meeting you
and I told my mind
that it was -alright- to
send the guards away
from protective soul duty
for the day ~~
Then I let you into my
quiet sanctuary
so that you could take
a tour on the
pathway to me
lined with
flower petals that
dropped at your feet
and spelled the words
to international
love signs
...at one time...
I would have allowed
you to walk through the
tunnel of peace
with a visa for
safe passage
overlooking previous
reservations that at
one time adorned
the walls of this
very tunnel --framed--
regulations and bylaws
hung in their decor
as though they were
art etchings drawn just
for me by an artist amore;
name withheld for anonymity
...a dust of drawings to
symbolize years of
love-loss inequities
What do you want from me...?
Taking me from the northern
chill of an arctic blast
to somewhere south of the
border; introducing me
to equatorial warmth
...so hot...that it scorched
my heart with
tempting heat waves
I wish only to return to the
comfort and the cold in the
north pole where
I sit high atop snow-capped
mountains; worry-free from
a tepid trekker on an exploration -
...where the temperature is
cold and frigid there
it's difficult for you
to breathe ether...in my air ~~
I'm closing off the path to my
spirit and soul; you no longer
are allowed to pass through
because you interrupted the
quiet of my sanctuary--with an
unbareable lukewarm noise
And I
still don't know
why you came here
but I'm
going to ask
that you leave...
