I’m drowning inside from 25 years of tears held back,
too scared to react to emotional attacks
so instead I keep my calm and relax.
But the fact still remains, even though I refrain,
I feel the pain no matter how hard I try,
and I ask this question every time I’m alone,
“please GOD tell me why can’t I cry?”
It’s kind of hard to ignore the tears spilling from my pores
in the form of emotional perspiration,
and all because I refuse to void my gender certification.
I was taught when I was younger to always be stronger,
    and never show anyone weakness,
but inside there’s this hunger to release what’s buried under,
because I feel this retention is needless.
Why was it instilled in me to conceal what’s weak
or at least what’s weak in their eyes.
What is it that makes a man relate his strength
to whether or not he can keep his eyes dry.
    **** it, why can’t I cry?
Can you please tell me why,
why can’t I just shed these old fears,
I’m moving on in the years and the pressure from peers
is hardly something I care for,
so there for their view of this dude,
no matter how uniquely construed, could never really define me.
But I feel one release could further increase my growth as a man profoundly.
I know these feeling exist because they flow to my wrist
from my heart, right onto the paper I’m penning,
so I guess in essence, I scribble my life lessons
using my tears as the ink.
If holding my feelings inside is what fuels my inspiration,
then I hope to keep these dry eyes,
and never again question my pride as long as I have my
    poetic cries.

In the presence of this room ...get a little bolder
and rest your head, upon my shoulder

The tenderness, that I will apply....
will surely make...a grown man cry

Your poetic tears, are compelled to drop
    keep dropping poet...don't ever stop

yeah, they're flowing from within, unto your pen
such beauty is released...from under the skin

I dig your lay-out poet, and it's so true that you're not alone, many of us have poetic tears..and that my friend, is "real tears".
