I've become very alarmed as to how the Judeo-Christian topics have overrun the front page of the Black Spirituality Forum. It's as if we have nothing else to talk about. I'm coming here to learn new stuff, and I'm seeing the same consistent theme. What about metaphysics? What about African traditions? What about the things that pre-dated all the Judeo-Christan hodgepodge? Can we please stop giving these traditions so much attention, and focus on our own stuff? Thanks!

Brother Onyemobi ... i think it's safe to say that Christianity is our own stuff too, as many of our Ancestors lived and died it.

I've even read that Christianity, Islam, most of the majors are not much different from each other, all rooted in African history and tradition.

Don't be alarmed though, at all the Christian threads, there seems to be an onslaught of attacks on Christians and Christianity of late, as though folk can't lift up their own life choices and paths, choosing rather to demean another's.

It's okay ... this too shall pass ... Lord Will'n.

Just do you ... talk about what you want ... in fact ... looka here ... another Christian thread on the front page ... :look:

    Love You!

If you are alarmed, you need only imagine how I feel. But did you say hodgepodge? Oh well, I'm hoping your dreams come true and its good to know that non traditionals are equally as affected as traditionals.

Why don't you get the ball rolling by sharing the spiritual traditions of the Igbo people?

Well, there are members here who adhere to this faith. So, they, like you, have a voice here.

But, there is room for ALL faiths here at Destee.

Christianity is ours by adoption, not by a natural birth. I don't think the attacks on it are unwarranted, but its pretty counterproductive to spend the majority of one's time trying to destroy another tradition, rather then building up your own.

Yes, for better or for worse, Christianity is a hodgepodge of the best and worst of different ancient traditions.
