I've been away for awhile but i had to spit this...hope the fam is feeling this.

    Is it true
    That only white women
    Have corageous stories to tell?
    Are superheroes for their families?
And do whatever to protect their kids?
    Is is true
That I'm just a walk on player
    In some white woman's
    Made for T.V. movie
    On how she overcame
    Sexual harrasment at work
    To save her neighbor
    From dieing of cancer
    All the while being beat
    By an alcoholic husband?
    Is it true
That I don't have a story to tell?
    That my struggle is funny?
    Or cute?
    I have nothing to do
    But smile
    As some white woman
    Cries on my shoulder
Or saves a run away bus
    Full of first graders?
    Oh, wait a minute!
    That's the same white woman
    That helped me over come
    My CRACK addiction!

    In my Lifetime
    It's Strong Black Woman Time
    All the time
    I'm the Superhero
    The damsel in distress
    The villain
    And the princess!
    In my Lifetime

    In who’s lifetime??
    mos def not mine
as I shed blood for my beloved
    recuperated to rise above it
saving souls among my many many misguided
all the while trying to hide it
because my weakness’ were too strong
and my battles were too long
carrying on despite the history discrepancy
but I am just a footnote in a white womans history
tell me something I don’t know
in all your efforts to tell me so
white woman playing the hostess to hospitality
but in my womb lies the roots of ROYALTY
    and yet
I stand by as many CHOOSE to forget
    and fall away
    when comes the day
of BLAK KING & QUEEN revelry
    spare me
    the tittle tattle tales
    of super white woman wrong
when my ancestors founded the ground you walk on
    save the day
while I save the future of my BLAK humanity
but leave that pathetic pale fleshed propaganda for the media and TV

    ****************************************

hey sista u know I had to show my cousin love right?? :)

    Hey True Love..

Good to see you back.. ( miss ya ).. This is a great drop.. So true about those who want a shoulder to lean on and cry, or brag and a chance to pretend they saved the universe.. all the time, suppressing it.

If I read this right, the Lifetime channel gots to get its act together. I don't watch it, so I didn't know about it. I like how you exposed it.
