    Hello Family,

Brother JamesFrmPhilly's thread, we went down to the NAACP convention, made me wonder what organizations are working for us.

    So i thot i'd ask yall ... :)

    Who's working for us?

We should know them, so we can support them.

If you have a link to their site, please include it.

    Thanks in advance for sharing.

We need a list. Then We can partner with them, then We can duplicate what they are doing that is working.

When you say "working for us" what do you mean?

    Like protecting us against brutality....

    helping us to start businesses......

    fighting for our political vitality...

    Or all of the above?

Yes Brother, all and any of the above. With so much that we need doing, i doubt that any one organization can be doing everything that is needed. So yes, name those organizations that are doing any of those things for us. We need to know who they are. Share links if you have them.

    Well sis...
I can't think of any one particular organization fighting the battle on all 3 fronts.

I don't have their links on hand but I do know of different groups and individuals around the nation who are playing a major role in our progress:

Jesse Jackson and Jesse Jackson Jr are fighting for us on the politcal front.
Say what you will, but they are pretty effective politicaly and socially.

I always had respect for Fred K.C. Price because he TAUGHT religion more than just "preaching" it.
But when I went to L.A. and saw his massive complex, how he served much of the poorer community surrounding it.
And how clean, professional, and clean cut his staff was.

He certainly is a general on the moral and economic front.

In Detroit the Shrine of Black Madonna PanAfricanist Christians are very active and hold considerable sway in local politics.

The Nation of Islam are quite active on the moral front.

I don't approve of all of thier material but I have to give props to my man Sean Combs for his Bad Boy Entertainment empire.
Not only did he help a lot of talented Black artists become famous, but he is also an entreprenuer and a fairly good role model in the entertainment industry.

I know some Gambles from Philly. I believe one was named Billy or William. I met them here over 30 years ago when they were working on their master degrees. I wonder if they are related. Hmmmm
