Who was the real Serpent in Genesis
    By Andre Austin

The Myth: Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the lord God made (Genesis 3:1)

The Reality: Genesis modeled the clever serpent after the Egyptian God Set (Satan), who took the serpent form of Aphophis, enemy of the Egyptian God Re.

Adam and Eve were ordered not to eat from the tree of knowledge. Eve came upon the tree and found a serpent dwelling there. The Serpent won over Eve. The secret of the fruit of the tree represents the Egyptian concept of Maat (moral order law), which was reduce down to the ten commandments from the 42 negative confessions or admonitions of Maat from Osiris. Jesus repeated one of its proverbs of truth/Maat sets souls free. Eating Maat gives Souls eternal life in Egypt. Alongside the 42 negative confessions was The Egyptian Judgment of souls Obituary claim declaring in part they gave food to hungry, clothes to naked so was Jesus.

Any way back to the tree. The Egyptians had a mythic image of the serpent in a tree. In pictures from this story , the Egyptian artist showed a Cat with a stick bruising the head of a serpent that dwells in a tree. The Cat in this myth is Re, the sun god, and the serpent is Aphophis, the enemy of Re who tries to swallow the sun at the end of each day. Whites who lack melanin would naturally not see the sun in whole as friendly to them. The original curse on Canaan was directed at Re who went by several different names. The curse evolve from religious to racial in later times. Re is pictured bruising the head of the serpent exactly like God directing Adam to bruise the serpent head and its progeny after the expulsion from Eden which is the City of On, helipolis where Moses was expelled as a Egyptian.

The Egyptians often identified Aphophis with the God Set, a clever and ambitious deity who wanted to seize the Egyptian throne from his brother Osiris. Towards this purpose, he conspired with allies to assassinate his brother Osiris and usurp the monarchy. Set cut Osiris up into 14 parts put Isis put him back together except for the missing penis. Circumcision ritual comes from the missing penis of Osiris not from a covenant with Abraham. Osiris survived his death and became king of the afterworld.

This brings us full circle with the serpent and the tree of knowledge. In the afterlife souls had to prove to Osiris they lived in maat (Truth/righteousness). This contradicted the religious principles of the Hebrew monotheism and the mythical images of Osiris had to be banned.

With the serpent in the tree corresponding to Set (Satan), the killer of Osiris, we have an ironic denouement. As punishment for seeking immortality by worshiping an Egyptian Osiris, the sinner lost immortality through the actions of Osiris mortal enemy, the wily and subtle Set. Just like the Hyksos who militarily took over Lower Egypt and dedicated their headquarters to Set, the Jews who joined an alliance with the Hyksos embraced Set when it suited their purpose of attacking the Egyptian religion.

With this evidence we know Adam didn't pass sin to Mankind. Therefore, the notion that we needed someone to die for our sins would be incorrect.

Naturally I love to read your articles - they are most insightful and gets straight to the point, however I do have a question about the association of Set with Apep.

As you know the consort of Apep was in fact Taweret aka Tu`at yet she was never known as the consort of Setekh aka Set (well until they merged the Set and Apep) because Setekh wife was Nephthys.

What we know up to this point is that Setekh became known as evil when the Hyksos made him their chief deity and because the natural Khemenu despised the Hyksos control over Km.t they began to transform Setekh in a wicked deity.

Another point is that the north and south had several disputes and because the inhabitants of Lower Km.t (Northern Egypt) were so-called generally lighter then their darker brothers from Upper Km.t (South Egypt) it appears that the Europeans translators sided with the north by excelling Heru over his uncle. To the Upper Egyptians Setekh was a great deity and was not evil. As a matter of fact Setekh was actually the protector of Ra - having been the only one powerful enough to destroy Apep beside Aten later called Ra himself. In some stories Apep was the former ruler of the Sun and Ra became the successor which is one of the main reason for the hatred beside the attack when Ra traveled the sky.

Now back to the story you presented -

Adam had two wifes according the the Judaic traditions - his wifes were Lilith and Chavah/Eve. The same can be said about Atum-Ra who had two wife as well which were Iusaas and Nebhotep.

Another likeness is that the word Adam means 'male & female' which is the same as Atum who was 'male & female'; both Adam and Atum being androgynous.

Eve on the other hand her name was Chavah (life-giver) and has a story which is is interesting - Here Kemetic counter part was that of Kefa which is pronounced like Chavah.

Kefa was original known as the Mother of beginning which is to say life giver and the creator of the living
Chavah/Eve was originally known as the life giver and mother of humanity

Kefa lost her original origins and became the mother of the underworld aka the protector of the dead Subsequently
Eve/Chavah through her act of biting the fruit became the mother of the dead because she brought so-called death to humanity.

Now this is where it gets interesting - according to the Gnostic gospels - Eve/Chavah aka Zoe the daughter of Sophia aka Wisdom saw Adam crawling on the ground and she told him to rise which gave him life.

Note: all of this will make sense in a second and why I questions the Set and Apep connection.

Ok back to question but with an overview of what I question this article - which was good by the way.

Eve/Chavah (Zoe) gave Adam life according the Gnostic Africans which makes her the Mother & Wife to Adam which isn't to far fetch especially in the days of old. Once again Eve is the Kefa of ancient Km.t the mother of life. What is interesting is that one of the forms of Kefu was that of Kheft the Lioness deity. If your wonder what does the lioness have to do with Yisra`el well Eve is the ancestor mother of the Israelites and her Egyptian likeness is seen as a lioness then there must be a lioness image in Yisra`el. .Let not fail to mention that Atum Ra mother was Sekhmet the Lioness deity

Ezekiel 19:1-2 Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel, 2 And say, What is thy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.

Shes (Eve/Chavah) the mother of Yisra`el - she as the form of a Lioness just like that of Kefa/Kheft. Now we know that these stories are esoteric in nature but if we are to get technical - according to the Gnostic bible and the bible humans were created in Gods image. If the Gnostic bible be true then Yaldaboath aka Apedemak (Ethiopian name) had the appearance of a lion which means that Eve physical if she came from Adam's body would have the appearance of a lioness regardless. Nevertheless, all fun to the side - according to the Gnostic story Eve (Zoe) transformed herself into a tree.

In the same chapter of Ezekiel 19 She (Eve) is later saw as a tree -

Ezekiel 19:10-11 Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters. 11 And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.

now - we see the strong relationship between the Kemet story and that of the bible and Gnostic text. We see the connection between Adam and his two wives - and that of Atum and his two wives. We know that Atum's mother was Sekhmet the lioness just like Adam's Eve aka Chavah/Kefa was the lioness - life-giver to him & later became the mother of the dead for biting to a fruit as Kefa is later referred to as the protector and mother of the dead.

Yet we come to Setekh/Set or Satan, Apep and now Seth. Atum later became known as Atum Ra or just Ra. What we also know is that Atum Ra is the Grandfather of Setekh (Set, Seth, Seteh, etc...) which is the 3rd generation. I find it kind of ironic that Adam's third son was in fact Seth which is an alternative name to Set/Setekh. Now in some African cultures the Grandparents take care of the childrens kids and so the kids call their grand-parents Mom or Dad. My grandfathers brother when talking to me he always referred to my grandfather and my dad. Could this be the same with Cain, Abel and the third son Seth?

If this be true then how can Apep possible be Set? Set/Sut aka Setekh protected and was the most powerful of all the deity; Atum Ra - In the bible Seth is seen as a Patriot with no indications of striff toward his father or grandfather.

Before Seth was born the serpent in the garden was - just like before Setekh was born Apep was as some stories teach that he was the god of the sun first before Ra and if Set is the grand-son of Ra then Apep was definitily first.

The Hyksos assumed Set to be there primary deity and so the Egyptian during the period at which was called the time of embarrassment (paraphrased) began to reject Set because of the Hyksos love for him and thus Setekh became and enemy of the Egyptian high god, yet if you take it back to the times before Set was fought against Apep so how could he possible be him?

    Peace

It is funny how all around the world different people try to "swallow" Egypt; or make it theirz.

I have read thousands of articles dealing with Egypt, and I am in no way a leader of knowledge in the matters.

But there is one thing that I believe....

Originally, "Jet Black" people built and created it....

Afterwards it was turned into a ovetstock.com

I know for a fact from working on a farm as child that the sun will turn the skin of a black person nice and almost translucent black if you out there long enough.

No one claims the Chin dynasty was built by the Polish ..... lol ehehehehe

If u ever read Lloyd Graham's book Deception and Myth In The Bible he will word by word break it down to you on how the snake is used not in just Egyptian beliefs but nearly every ancient belief system known to man from Babylonian to Aztec has a story in which a snake is used to symbolize creative energy. Your analysis of dark country folk is true also, lol and Egypt was invaded by every tom dicc and joe who wanted a piece of it's wealth and history. Many Kings were just better at holding off invaders for generations than others.

Yes it is funny how people try to make ancient Km.t theirs - yet you usually find it being white or Arab folks doing it and not the Asians or Indians. When African American do it which many people across the world get upset over - they don't understand the mentality of AA's.

Unlike the rest of the world AA's see Africa as one big family such as Americans view America as one whole nation. Ancient Km.t is part of Africa and one of our main states if you will, its a part of our history as well. Its like California praising the accomplishment of the Boston Tea party - though they were on the other side of America and not part of the union yet, it doesn't stop Californians from being proud of their national accomplishments. The difference is we were one great country back then with state wars at times like the Civil war in America but Africa was our home. So like the accomplishments of America made on the East coast is the accomplishment of America on the West, so is the accomplishment made on the East coast of Africa the accomplish of the West coast of Africa. Likewise the accomplishments made on the West coast of Africa are the accomplishments for the East.

Many white Europeans lived thousands of miles away from ancient Greece and most were not from the Caucasus Mountains yet the call themselves Caucasians and rejoice over the accomplishments of ancient Greece and no words are even mentioned about them claiming what is not their or the accomplishments of another people. Yet we've found ourselves having to defend ourselves for doing what appears to be the same thing.

You are absolutely correct in saying different people try to swallow Egypt and make it theirs - which is what they do, but this cannot be said about African Americans because Africa was our home and Egypt is in Africa like California is part of the United States; making Egypt part of our ancestral home.

    Peace

    Excellent pointz;

Any knowledge I gain dealing with Ancient Kemet is a great builder for my mind.

I have learned so many histories about other nationalities, it has been the hardest to find large doses of knowledge dealing with Ancient Kemet or even
    Ancient Alexandria.
