Who Was Responsible For The Slave Trade???

This seems to be a good question. But this question is aimed as a diversion tactic away from the real atrocities of slavery, which for African descendants in the New world IS the relevant topic.

Sure there is evidence that some corrupt African leaders were complicit in the slave trade.
But the real question which is seldom if ever addressed or acknowledged is:

Who was responsible for the treatment of the slaves?!!

Most Europeans, whose countries were part of the slave trade, are trying to sidestep this issue or deflecting blame by diverting the topic to the fact that they were not the only ones involved in the slave trade.

    Fine.

But what does that have to with the way they mistreated and abused the slaves?

Is it the Africans' fault that the Europeans raped their slave women?
Is it the Africans' fault that the Europeans tortured their slaves?
Is it the Africans' fault that the Europeans treated their slaves worse than animals?

It's like someone blaming 7 Eleven for his/her smoking habit, or their alcohol habit.
Or a husband blaming his wife's parents for him beating her.

How about that other argument that Africans also had slavery?

True, but there is no African Kingdom in history that had an entire economy totally based on slave labor as was the case in colonies in the New World and in the American South! In Africa slavery was used as a means to pay a debt. The debtor was generally free to go after the debt was paid and he wasn't whipped, beaten, dehumanized or raped as was the case in European colonies and the American South.

And then there is the argument that the Europeans did the slaves a favour by "rescuing" them from living in the jungle or in trees, thereby revealing their willful ignorance about Africa in general.

Let's look at what those "jungles" looked like during the time of slavery:

These are all areas that we know the largest part of slaves came from.

    Kumasi - The Asante Kingdom's City(Ghana):
    Benin :

    Loango(Congo):

As you can see these were all well organized and structured cities.

The point is don't waste your time arguing the wrong debate which is not relevant to the treatment of slaves, from which scars are still present in some of their descendants.

The last diversionary tactic is. Well this was so long ago, how long are you going to keep bringing all this up?

Well I don't know...uhm how long should I remember the American Revolution? How long should I remember the Napoleonic wars? How long should I remember Columbus, who incidentally was totally of course, whereby we now have two peoples we call Indians...

Something to note, there are at least 24 Holocaust museums in US of A Inc. alone, yet there are no Slave museums of note anywhere (in the country that was established greatly from the practice).

    upload_2015-1-21_18-19-6.png

From what I have heard, the reason for the increase number of Holocaust museums was due to the increase of what was and is called "Holocaust Denial", as this was a way to counteract the naysayers.

The closest "slavery museums" are what are called "African American Museums", which insert slavery for heritage purposes I suppose... as if "African American" heritage should always have slavery as a conjoining factor, instead of representing both as separate elements.

"African American" Heritage museum over here --->
"US Slavery" museum over here ---->

Center the focus around the Dutch/Germany area

Yahudish (Yiddish) abstracts in the Roman empire, the Ottoman empire, along with the Dutch that re-established New Found lands (New Amsterdam renamed New York, Harlem from Haarlemmerbuurt, etc)

The Empire State was not just a cute nickname, the intent was based on a central business zoning area.

Dutch, Pilgrims, etc... put it together
(Dutch and Quaker Colonies in America is a good reference point)

There was really no one element or people responsible though, as many saw the profitable nature of the cheap labor as well as capturing and exporting it like product or stock (hence the stock market and auction blocks).

Look to who or what elements profited the most, but that can be subjective in some ways based on historicity and how much it has been counter reproduced with inaccurate and misleading information.

    But here are examples.

    • The Ottoman Empire and North African contributors, from Tripoli, Libya to Morocco
    • The Yiddish (modern day so called Zionists)
    • Greco/Roman Jesuit orders that were fixated on growing wealth and affiliates
    • Dutch traders (Rotterdam, Netherlands was the largest trading port in Europe)
    • And Britain, especially Britain

    upload_2015-1-21_19-6-16.png

There is much missing and removed in the story lines, so the detective work is an ongoing struggle for discovery and recognition of past and present.

    Are these prisoners or slaves?

It usually comes down to what is the most conceivable, but as the old adage goes... "truth is sometimes stranger than fiction".

2a. Jews: Almost 40% of all Jewish householders in the United States owned one slave or more. In the South, which had a much higher ratio of slave ownership than the North, only 5% of white people owned slaves.

"...White Europeans would have ended the morally corrupt practice of slavery in North America much sooner if it weren’t for powerful Jewish businessmen lobbying to keep their profitable industry alive. As Rabbi and historian, Bertram Korn said, “many Southern Jews believed slavery to be indispensable to their happiness and security. “The road to social and economic advancement and acceptance [for the Jews] was made easier by the institution of slavery...”

Whites Owning Black Slaves in USA: Hoax

    Here is a snippet:

"...Lee Friedman: The bulk of the slave trade in Brazil, where most of the slaves went, was in the hands of Jewish settlers.

Wilfred Samuels: The Jews of Barbados made a good deal of money by buying and renting out of black slaves.

Seymour Liebman: The ships were not only owned by Jews, but were mainly manned by Jewish crews and sailed under the command of Jewish captains.

Moshe Kahan: Between 1653 and 1658 Jewish Marrano merchants were in control of the Spanish and Portuguese trade, were very interested in the Dutch East and West Indian companies, were heavily involved in shipping and most importantly had at their disposal large amounts of capital..."

The Dutch have an interesting way of separating their involvement in slave exploitation and celebrating December 5th, Sinterklaas
    [IMG]

    http://www.yeshacallahan.com/dutch-protesters-want-away-black-pete/

The Dutch have been celebrating "Black Pete" for nearly as many years (300) since their involvement and benefit from human trafficking.

One could suppose that the same rationale that some use the for claim "using the N-word" as being a term of endearment (without really understanding the origins of the term other than from a slaver tongue... dig deeper) could be used for "black face" as an image of endearment as well.

Waiting for some to bring this into "hip hop" or "black culture" as a new fad for the youth.

How did any of this become some sort of badge or endearing expression?

"We will take the whips, then learn and use it to whip ourselves, then massah wont be able to whip us any more with the whip."

And for any to think that "black face" is any different for the term used to describe it (NI**ER),

Dropping the -er to an -a, sounds like some crazy "it took it from being masculine to feminine" type of linguistic creationism.

The new slavery is capitalism, and when people pimp and exploit cultures, and even those that pimp their ancestors for a piece of it, the next question is...

"Who is responsible for prolonging the parallel effects of slavery?"

Seriously, some think it's reasonable to accept being a "Black Faced NI**ER"?

Which is completely different from being "Black and Proud"

And this is what is being pushed?

There are a lot of issues with the OP.

The OP compares Africans selling Africans to 7/11 selling cigarettes.

I also believe that the selling or trading of slaves by their own people is no where near as widely known as the treatment of those people once they were enslaved.

Furthermore slaves that were shipped from Africa were enslaved by their own people. If a comparison to cigerettes is necassary dont blame the end line smoker for the growing, harvesting, rolling and packaging of cigarettes. You can smoke cigarettes if there is none to smoke.

The African country of Maurtinia finally established criminal laws outlawing slavery in 2007.

The last country on earth to establish such law.

The percentage of Jews who bought ships, held auctions and maintained plantations to enslave MY people is larger than any African transaction and eye got proof and documentation over verbal platitudes....
