    Who Is Your Favorite Author?

I do not perceive it possible to identify a favorite author> I am a writer and reader who goes through phases. I remember reading the series of books by Carlos Castenada. At that time Castenada was my favorite author. I've read several of Tom Clancey's books, e.g. Red Storm Rising, Hunt For Red October, the Cardinal of the Kremlin, etc. In my military techno adventure frame I like Tom Clancey, even so there are other fine writings in that genre, "The Thunder of Erebus" by Paine Harrison for instance. I also am fascinated by unusual phenomena, UFOs and the like. Gary Kinder, who wrote Light Years was my favorite author for awhile in that area. On and on there are "favorite" authors who are constantly on the rise to be discovered. In my reading I've come to believe no one author can supercede any other, every book I've read that maintains a presence in my thinking was generated by a "favorite" writer. I suppose a good question would be to ask what have been our favorite books in our areas of interest. From that would come names some members would never imagine, because they don't read in those areas. As for me I have no favorite favorites, there are some who stand out among those I have read.

Zane......(kinda nasty but her books are worth reading)
    Toni Morrison
    Alice Walker
    Omar Tyree
    Mary Monroe
Olymipia Vernon....(yall gots to read her book "Eden" its sooo good)

    Books

I just like to read, so to say I have a favorite author would be hard. I read this book recently called "A Melancholy Note" and it was very good. I also just read "Mama" for the first time, but I liked "A Melancholy Note" better. I think it is just important that you read.

My fave author? I don't really have one, but I enjoy books written by Charles Dickens, Eric Jerome Dickey, E. Lynn Harris, Jane Austin, and a couple of others. I love reading , so I don't really have a particular favorite author. :)*

    Hmmmm...

You know, not many authors can keep my attention. Guess I'm just a hard critic. Eric Jerome Dickey, though...now he's the man! I love his style, plots, endings...guess that makes him my favorite. I find Lynn Harris sort'a boring. Hope this doesn't come back and bite me later. :nono:

I love medical mysteries and horror. So, my favorites are Robin Cook and Stephen King. I also like Zane and have just started reading Michael Baisden.

    Mine are:

Eric Jerome Dickey(All of his books, even anothologies, he got it going on and then some)
Zane (got all of her books for the time being)
Michael Baisden (got both of his)
And I'm feeling Omar Tyree (some of his books)
My mama told me to add E Lynn Harris (I ain't feeling him because most of his books have something about gay people in it but I put it in here for my mama)

among others......but these are my top four picks
