    Peace and Blessings Family,

Who are the Delegates and Superdelegates?

Is there a complete list of the them, with names and such? What is the process for becoming one?

I've done a brief search and can only find mention of one, two, or a few, here and there, but not a comprehensive list.

There's quite a frenzy surrounding them ... Superdelegates Being Courted By Big Names.

Are they all white? How many Black?

    Thanks in advance.

i think they are party insiders. elected officials and ward leaders and such.
it has the potential to be a big stink if they deny obama.
the drama is far from over.

These are the Leaders of the Democratic Party NATIONAL CONVENTION. The list is self-explanatory.

    Sister Destee

No, its not a secret society, most of us just don't know the process.

Remember, the party nominees are selected at a National Convention.

The primary system or "caucus" is how the party's decide who is to attend the convention and who they will represent. The parties have local, state and national structures. It is whithin these structures they decided who will serve as delegates. These are the local, state and national leaders of the respective parties. Many of the superdelegates are long standing representatives who include most elected officials, and former representatives, presidents, vps, etc. In other words this is the party elite, not the rank and file.

This is why I been telling brother Kem not to get too happy. Obama is leading in delegates from the primaries and caucases but Clinton had the most number of PLEDGED superdelegates. And many of these include people who served in the Clinton administration or were elected under his presidency.

    good post O

clinton has a lot of the party people tied up from way back in the day.
i believe they will try to throw it to her. yes, may of them are black. the black mayor of philly, for instance.
    black "leaders" will deny obama.

i think there is a chance for much drama and name calling to come.
obamas only shot is to wipe her out in some of the big states.
in pa, the establishment is all for clinton. i plan to volunteer for obama when he gets here.
there will have to be a street movement to counter the old school leaders who are fighting for their positions.

pure crabs in the barrel action.

    Look at the DNC members.

Even before the DC caucus Clinton has moved on to focus on Texas and Ohio because MOST of the superdelegates from DC, etc are already pledged to her. These are the "wild cards".

Ok, now this is where it comes down to my ONE point of contention with folks here and that comes back to coalition building.

Because that's what is gonna get Hillary over. Maxine Waters. Marion Berry. Hilda Solis. Dianne Fienstein. Dianne Watson. Kwame Kilpatrick. Art Torres. etc. The DNC "MINORITY" Leadership is a MAJOR part of her base.

I have one very basic reason why I dont buy or play into the "latino" "racism" argument on this one as well. I KNOW one of the superdelages who was the HIGHEST RANKING LATINA in President Clinton's CABINET.

    Maria Echaveste.

I used to darn near live with one of her younger sister's Beatrice and her husband Tomas Gaspar. We all were involved in student government and student publications in grad school at UCLA.

There is no way Obama is gonna crack some of this armour because these people have DEEP GRASS ROOTS ORIGINS AND SUPPORT.

Would you say Hillary's got the VERIZON network - people on her team that got networks within networks with inner networks. The "one call says it all" people. Can you hear me now? Good...

How do we build such an infrastructure?

    Obama's Downfall----

Being a Junior Senator is working for and against him. He doesn't have a litany of "bad votes" or "missed" votes on his Congressional record but that also denotes a lack of experience as well. Being a first-term Senator he hasn't built up enough of a "resume" nor has he had the time to make the same sort of powerful allies Hil has made.
Hillary is riding her husband's coattails into the White House although she is only a 2-term Senator she IS Mrs. Bill Clinton. And though his presidency was tainted by disgrace whose last name she has still carries weight--
