You know, a lot of people here have told me that I should confront white people when they are racist. These past few days I have been doing exactly that over zimmerman status updates on facebook with no results.

White people cannot see they're racist for the trees. They always cry about reverse racism and I just end up staring at their comments like "what is wrong with you?" because they can't freakin' take responsibility for how they really are.

None of them want to admit they are racists and apologize. So I just delete them from facebook because I don't want them as friends.

White People could use some humility and a deeper education in how racism still exists in our society it seems. Most White People seem to think that racism ended with slavery or the civil rights movement.

And then they cry about reverse racism. They point the finger at black people.

    *facepalm*

    Why should 'they' admit it?
What is in it for 'them' if they do?

I think admission might help them be more humble about themselves and it would make them more careful about what they say or think. That it would somehow lessen racism if they were to acknowledge their bias against black people.

As for what's in it for them...I would say, maybe, it would make them better human beings capable of better relationships with people. Rather than antagonistic accusatory "relationships" in which they refuse all responsibility.

There are plenty of whites that live here down south that will tell you to your face, that yes, they are racist and don't care at all who knows. Then they'll call you the "N" word and go about their business. :10500:

So, even if they were to admit it, would they be willing to change their attitude?

But they have to think racism is wrong and shameful for them to find humility in admitting it, yeah? Many only think it's wrong when it's toward them, thus they cry, "reverse racism".

And better relationships with people is not incentive enough for many because that that doesn't include "privilege" and "entitlement" for having white skin. Sure someone with a conscience might think that's something worth working toward, but if a person is staunchly racist, they hardly care about other people's feelings.

They can humble themselves and everything economically and politically will stay the same. For there is no evidence that would even suggest a change from a collective admitting they are racist.

Morality without power is tumbleweed blown around in a monsoon.

Do you think racism will end? Racism is a product of capitalism! According to Dr Clarke; the Roman Empire knew no racism! Most of the one percent practiced African religions, and Blacks could achieve what ever thier skills and abilities could get them.
Racism hardly existed in Europe, until 1490, with the wars against the Moors.
Racism increases and becomes exacerbated any time there is an economic slump! England helped Black abolitionsists, but with the recent austerity forced by the World Bank and the fascistic EU racism is rampant there and all over Europe.

But here in the USA as the economy goes into a slump, maybe for the next 5 years, why expect White people to stop being racist?

You're right in saying that there is no evidence on the horizon that White People will change.

I agree with you and this frustrates me to no end.

I didn't know that Racism didn't exist until the 1940's in Europe.

Although, I did know that racism increases in times of economic hardship. Just take a look at Golden Dawn in greece right now. That Neo-Nazi movement is the 3rd largest political party in Greece right now after their economic collapse.

I'm not sure why racism increases during economic hardships though it is evident that this is the case.

He wrote 1490, though I don't know to what degree it is true.
