Even though I can't view the link, I have grown up with a few Albinos. To be Albino is a genetic disorder, it doesn't make them a different race. An Albino born into a black family still has African genes. They are still capable of passing these genes onto their children (although many of their children are also Albino). Many Albinos have identity issues because they are judged by their appearance. To me they are brothers & sisters.

    peace,

true indeed brotha Pan........I believe Albino's are a sign that the original people of the Earth have within their genetic coding the ability give birth to all colors of the spectrum. And with that, the opposite can not be the same. Albino's are brothas & sistas without a doubt and can give birth to a darker skin child unlike the so-called caucasoid new-beings who are genetic recessive & can only give birth to pink babies.......they can't even give birth to a white baby..hmmmmmmmmm - all their babies come out pink...but I'm getting off the subject & all I wanted to say was that I agree with brotha pans statement!!

    peace & love ya'll

That is an interesting take info-moetry...one I hadn't thought of before! Yes that does make one wonder. I just got done talking with my wife about this, and apparently there are Albinos in her native country in Africa (Equatorial Guinea). Therefore this is evidently something which does happen amoung African people (not just African Americans). Sadly Albinos in Equatorial Guinea are separated from the rest of the community (indeed they have formed their own community). We can not repeat the same here! We need to recognize all African descended people, despite their appearances. If they consider themselves part of the community, we can do no less than welcome them with open arms.

You seriously didn't know this? lol. Malian singer Salif Keita ( a direct descendent of Sundiata Keita by the way ) is an albino. Why would you think albinism was only among Black Americans? Any group of color can produce albinos, don't even White people have their own version of albinos? I can't get to any of the links.

I know this is difficult to believe African_Prince, but I don't know every black person in the world! I don't even know half of them!

I have always heard, that albinism is a recessive gene that can be expressed in a few different ways and that basically being a white/Caucasian is one form of Albinism, which is by definition the absence of melanin. There are whole sub-species of certain mammals and especially aquatic creatures, which live in dark and lightless environments, who express this gene normally and the blindness that is associated with it.

I always found the Hon. Elijah Muhammad’s explanation of Caucasians inherent Albinism interesting. I’ve noticed and read that Albinism physiologically affects its subjects on multiple levels.
