WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has decided not to release photographs of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden's body, the White House said Wednesday.

The announcement came after a senior administration official told NBC News of the decision not to release post-mortem photos and Obama revealed the decision during an interview Wednesday with CBS' "60 Minutes."

..The White House had been weighing the release of a photo, in part to offer proof that bin Laden was killed during a raid on his compound early Monday. However, officials had cautioned that the photo was gruesome and could prove inflammatory

Go figure! It's kind of hard to release something to the public that you don't have right?

    Well, ain't it?

I read a similar article, and the reasons he gave seem to be valid to me. If he publishes the photos everyone will say that they are photoshopped anyway, and this might cause more of an uproar in other countries. The specific example he used was if they killed one of our troops and used the photos, how would we feel? I know that they have done it, and it has angered me, so to publish the photos and anger others, when no one will believe the photo anyway seems silly. At least to me.

Some one said the reason why Bush was not indicted, or brought up on charges by the present administration for the lies that caused the death of millions in Iraq, and his attempts to hamper the 9/11 Commission is becuase it would look like , the present administration was prejudice against the intellectualy challenged.

And you know four out of five doctors say, that if a persons parents did not have children, then more then likely, they would not also.

Yes and Bin Laden will just conveniently stay hidden forever. Seriously, let's not start with the conspiracy theories.

That is a classic cop out. Show the darn pictures and let the chips fall
where they may. The sooner the better. Should they decide to show them
years from now, then folks may likely be moved to believe the photos were
    invented.

Pres obama don't seem to remember the live footage shown of those mercenaries who were killed, burned,
dragged and hung from a bridge in one of those towns in iraq. Pres obama don't seem to remember the footage
of jfk getting his brains blown out being shown on t.v. Many of us know what
death is and have seen it before.

Sometimes, I opine, we have to see death as a reminder that this war stuff ain't no joke.
I wonder how many kids joined the military after playing some war video games or seen
rambo type movies with wicked graphics.

Again, show the photos and let the chips fall where they may. And do it sooner
    rather than later....
