time moves ‘then’ to ‘now’ with such precision and stealth
we hardly notice the passing from what went before into
a few moments from then

time is fluid, ever changing just seconds
ago into unending ‘now’ ~
moving on quickly in rapid succession, unceasing
blending laughter, folding tears into cyclical eternities
we cling to as we create memories
re-living love’s sting in that burning kiss
that feels like yesterday a lifetime ago

time finds souls hanging suspended between
heaven and earth, flying free in that space where
ravages of nature cannot corrupt
sweet and young, and as plump and ripe
as love ever was when it began
the moment time stood still
and every living
thing held its breath
when he moved slow and deep inside
the place I forever keep
outside the reach
of time
