What the German people said when they were warned about Hitler:"It can't happen here."
    fascism?
    neo feudalism?
    It's already happening here.

If worse comes to worse and Romney wins the election, where will we be safe? I can get a passport but what can I do with it? Where should we go?

Canada seems the easiest choice but is that far ernough away? The leaders in Mexico (not the Mexican people, but the PTB) may let a few of us slip in, but will they allow hordes of African American refugees bring an unprecedented "immigration problem" to their county? Go to Africa? You got "go to Africa" money?

And me, specifically, where can I go? It has to be somewhere with electricity to power the batteries for my hearing device. And I think if my implant or outer equipment ever needs maintenance or replacement, I may be out of luck. I won't be able to stay here if Romney cuts the programs to help people with hearing and visual disabilities, but what other countries have such? Will my special situation allow the State Department to track me to another country and punish me?

I'm not trembling with fear (yet) but these questions cross my mind.

Great thread Sister River ... :toast:

I have no idea where i'd go.

Many talk about the USA, wanting to leave, hating it so, but i'd imagine few have a plan for leaving the country.

As raggedy as our living may be here, i'd imagine it would decline greatly should we venture outside the borders.

From what i see on television, Mexico is going through some major stuff of their own, murders, drug wars, all kinds of killing and mayhem every day ... on levels we've never experienced ... so that may not be the place to head toward ... though i don't really know.

I have yet to travel extensively right here in this country, let alone venturing all outside of it.

That's just the truth for me ... but maybe others have more substantive ideas on where we should head ... should we be faced with such.

    Looking forward to learning!

    Love You!
