    I come from
    Mangoes and fried plantain
    Sugar plantations
    And barefoot walking

    I come from
    Riverside washing
    And out-housing
    Two room shack living
    And zinc roof homes

    I come from
    Black elders truth talking
    Anansi story-telling
    And black on black
    Back break laboring
    From sun to moon

    I come from
    Broad hips shaking
    Beer bellies whining
    Immigration dancing
    And generations removed

    I come from
    Proud marching
    Together making
    Oppressive forces fighting
    Stone turning stone
    Turning stone

    We take
    The rocky roads
    With us
    Wherever we go

    Where I come from…

I thank the God of All Blessings

....He knew just where to plant and water you....knowing the rough terrain would cause your faith to grow ...and in obedience you'd testify through His perfect gift of flow.....

you always stir such deep emotion with what you write...awesome..

you are indeed an old soul..carrying your history around with you..proudly, with head held high, taking one step after another down that rocky road...

I am not one to be speechless...this is too beautiful to say it is beautiful and too profound to simply say it was good. So I am left with an inadequate vocabulary to describe what I felt as I read yet another one of your masterpieces.
