I find it infuriating when I'm out and a white person asks to touch my hair. The other day I was out with a friend of mine and her friends, which are white were like,
"You have such cool hair, it's so pretty...can I touch it?"
I hadn't even given them permission, I just smiled and this guy stuck his hand in my hair and began patting it almost like a dog.
I just grinned, but inside I wanted to kick him in his nut sack.
This has happened more then on one occasion. Either they ask to touch it or they go right ahead and touch it anyways.
Has anyone else experience this? And how did you feel? And how did you handle it?

This used to happen to me all the time before I started covering my head. I'd slap their hands away.

It's not cool to touch anyone anywhere without permission

I've never been around so many white people to be asked that, truthfully. Those who touch my hair are usually just men! Saying it's pretty, then running fingers through it!

But if I were asked, I might just tell it'd make me feel uncomfortable, as though I'm being treating like a zoo animal. Like Bootzey said, you should have permissions before doing something like that; just show respect, in action and in words.

Yeah...I even think asking someone if they can touch their hair..for me is a bit much...I know that white people have some kind of curiosity to black people hair..for whatever reason, but I don't ask if I can touch their hair.

Sometimes, I believe, they think we'd be flattered; such as "you are so amazing to me, I just have to touch you!". But it does come off as strange, like, are you checking this off from a bucket list or something? LOL

lol that's exactly how it feels too...Now they can run to all their white friends and tell them of their adventures in touching a negro's hair.

    LOL @ "adventures".

But, like I said, of all white people I met, none had asked me that. Probably cause it's usually business between us, and not so casual. Like going to the dentist! lol

When they would try, I'd frown and move away. They eventually got the hint. One idiot tried to be forceful, as it was his/their right. They got the hint on that too

i was on the south side last week, shopping at the mexican store, getting some meats. I was waiting in line to check out and someone was pulling on my dreads in the back... i turned around, getting ready to go off, and saw that it was a two year old baby,..... i didn't know what to do then,...just checked out my food and left...
