Last night he laid down
surely thinking the sweetest
thoughts of love all aglow

His sensual caresses in
the darkness of the night
shrouded her in the
smoothest of comforts

She felt protected against
the coming of the morning

The contour of he, the man,
and the silhouette of she,
the woman, reigned supreme
during the hours of darkness

With eyes closed, they tasted
the breath of the evening's
aphrodisiacal dew

They embraced tightly and
lovingly; hoping never
to happen upon the coming
of the early morning

Wrapped in passion unlimited
He loved her as he always had
Blanketed by the darkness
but exposed at morning's light

Time stood still not; hours
rushed hurriedly by as if
mocking them into hastening
their soulful and passionate union

Then, racing across the sky, came
the outstretched hands of the
morning's dawn stroking their
moisture soaked skin from the
past night's ecstasy

It had come early as it always did
Tormenting their souls and
forebodingly teasing their sensually
exhausted mentals with its glow

And as silently as she appeared,
she vanished like a quiet breeze
with the thought of him calling
her name with silent eyes

She would anxiously await her
lover to dream tonight's
dream of her

Until the next morning comes
early again…
